BACKYARD BLAST 2018,   Summer Bible Study Series

This summer we will be offering a series of classes built around the theme:   Doing the Right Thing  (Making moral choices in a world full of options).   The format will be a video presentation followed by a discussion.   The presentations are thought provoking and feature scholars who are attempting to unpack what has happened to America and its lack of a moral compass.  As in the past, we will begin with a potluck meal at 5:45 p.m. and the educational offering will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.   We will wrap up around 7:30 p.m. so that everyone can get home before sunset.    The sessions will be as follows:

June 6, 2018    -  “How did we get into this mess?”
June 20, 2018  -  “Is there truth, a moral law we can know?”
July 11, 2018   -  “If we know what is right, can we do it?”
July 25, 2018   -  “What does it mean to be human?”
August 8, 2018-  “Ethics in the Market Place”
August 22, 2018  “Ethics in public life”

A Celebration of Philippa White’s Ministry
Sunday, July 29th

Please save the date on your calendar for a special day of thanksgiving for Philippa White’s 10+ years of ministry as our Office Manager.   She is exceptional in every way and we will be recognizing her ministry to this congregation at both our worship service and following the service at a Congregational Potluck Brunch immediately following worship on July 29th.   If you have any questions or would like to contribute to a gift, please contact Karen Grip, Kathy Dierker or Teresa Liberta.
